Two Atlantic County cousins were killed in a fiery crash on the Garden State Parkway early Sunday morning. Tyleek Jones, 20, was in the front passenger seat of the Nissan Sentra, when it veered off the road and hit several trees around milepost 42.1 in Galloway Township, State Trooper Alejandro Goez said. It then caught fire.
The driver’s identity has not been officially released but a family member identified him to BreakingAC as 20-year-old Eric Burch, of Pleasantville. “He was the other great young man in the car,” Sameerah Jones said of her son. In the back seat, Danie Pettus, 20, of Atlantic City, and Adam Jones, 19, of Galloway Township, were both injured, and taken to the Trauma Center at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, Goez said. Pettus was later airlifted to Cooper Health System in Camden. Both men were in critical condition. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for Tyleek Jones, known to his loved ones as Leek, who many remembered as an infectuous laugh, athletic ability and an overall love of life.
