Two Atlantic City teens arrested in stabbing
Two 17-year-olds were arrested Wednesday in the stabbing of a man. Patrol officers were called to the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue at 2:16 p.m., Sgt. Kevin Fair said. Officer Matthew Talavera was on foot patrol nearby and arrived to see several males involved in an altercation, according to the report. A 58-year-old man from the city had been stabbed, Fair said. The two teenage boys then fled. Talavera chased one and arrested him. Officers Rick Lasco and Mailon Demby apprehended the other teen.
A knife was recovered in a parking lot after it was discarded, Fair said.
The victim was taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for treatment.
The two teens were charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest and conspiracy.
One was additionally charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Both were taken to the Harborfields Detention Facility.
