Three arrested with two guns in Atlantic City
On February 2, 2017, a motor vehicle stop resulted in the arrest of three people after officers located two handguns and marijuana in the vehicle. At 6:28 pm, Officers Anthony Abrams and Alberto Valles conducted a motor vehicle stop at New York and Arctic Avenues after observing several traffic violations. While speaking with the occupants, the officers could smell the odor of raw, unburnt marijuana in the vehicle and could see a paper target with numerous holes in it that is used for target shooting practice. The driver, Ashalay Walker, who had a warrant for her arrest, provided Officer Abrams with a New Jersey driver’s license that was not her. With assistance from Officers Christopher Dodson and Daniel Arra, the occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle. When the rear passenger, Donte Gilliard, got out of the car, the officers saw that he had been sitting on two handguns loaded with hollow-point bullets. One handgun had a laser sight and had been reported stolen during a robbery in Georgia. The other handgun had an extended magazine. The officers also located about 16 grams of marijuana in the vehicle. All three occupants were arrested.
