The New Jersey Air National Guard honored front-line workers with a special flyover Tuesday.
The 177th Fighter Wing and 108th Wing partnered as part of the nationwide Air Force Salutes Flyover event, honoring the men and women working on the front lines during the coronavirus pandemic.
The flyover will featured three F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 177th Fighter Wing and a KC-135R Stratotanker from the 108th Wing. Local comedian Michelle Tomko was on hand to capture the event as they flew over Atlantic City.. The other areas included the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Vineland Veterans Home and U.S. Coast Guard Training Center, ending with the Atlantic City Convention Center.
"Never underestimate the value of a morale boost when in combat," said Brig. Gen. Jemal Beale, commander of the N.J. National Guard and commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. "I want to thank the NJ Air Guard for its patriotic gesture and flyover in support of our first-responder cohorts as we continue to battle COVID-19."
