Four more deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Atlantic County

Four more Atlantic County residents have died from complications from COVID-19, health officials said Saturday. Three were in long-term care centers. The county also had 62 more residents test positive, including a 1-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl. The total is now 1,495 cases, with 3541 recovered. Two Hammonton men, ages 78 and 70, along with an 88-year-old man from Galloway Township and a 62-year-old Egg Harbor Township woman have died, bringing the countywide total to 72. The county did not say which of the deaths were not in long-term care.

The new confirmations include 12 residents from Galloway Township, 10 from Atlantic City, eight from Hammonton, seven from Egg Harbor Township, five from Hamilton Township and four each from Northfield and Pleasantville.

Absecon and Linwood each have three more confirmed cases, with two more in Buena Vista and Mullica townships.

Egg Harbor Township and Port Republic have one new positive each.

Atlantic County will continue next Tuesday and Thursday, by appointment, for symptomatic county residents with a doctor’s prescription, proof of residency and appointment confirmation.

Atlantic County has tested 1,053 residents to date with 25.9 percent confirmed as positive. The statewide positivity rate is around 28 percent, the governor said Friday.

Testing is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Residents may make an appointment for testing online at www.aclink.org. In addition to the doctor’s prescription, residents must also provide proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill, as well as the appointment confirmation.

As always, those who are unable to keep their appointments are asked to cancel so that others will have an opportunity to be tested.
