An Egg Harbor Township man wanted after dropping a handgun during a chase in Atlantic City has been arrested. ShotSpotter notified police of gunfire just before 5 p.m. March 29, in the 600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. Officers arrived to find evidence that gunshots had been fired, and received information that two potential suspects fled in a vehicle. Within five minutes of the initial call, Sgt. T.J. Moynihan found a vehicle matching that description with three men standing outside of it in the 1600 block of Arctic Avenue. One of the males matched the description of the possible suspect, according to the report. As Moynihan approached, one of the men began to back away and then ran, Fair said. Moynihan chased the man, later identified as Terri Bailey, as Officer Thomas Gilardi joined the pursuit. While running, Bailey removed a loaded handgun from his waistband and dropped it to the ground, Fair said. It was recovered by Gilardi. Bailey ran into the Schoolhouse Apartments, where officers were unable to locate him. On Friday, detectives of the Special Investigations Section found Bailey leaving a residence on the 100 block of Woodpecker Road in Egg Harbor Township. He was taken into custody without incident. Bailey, 44, is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice. He is being held in the the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
