In this time of media doubt, it’s important to have a news source that people can trust. Everyone wants to be first, but it’s more important to be right; to be ethical; to care about the community you are covering. With more than two decades of reporting experience, Lynda Cohen has lived by the mantra “confirm THEN report.” As a long-time lead reporter for the Press of Atlantic City she consistently contributed to front-page headline stories and developed a strong following from people who knew that Lynda always had her finger on the pulse of the community. Venturing out on her own, she developed her own digital news agency Breaking AC, where she amassed an even larger follower base. Since then she's learned the value of social media, which she believes allows the readers to get involved, to ask questions, and to challenge.
“The goal of any news outlet is to inform people who are affected. It’s to let them know of the good and bad in the world around them. It should also be about letting their voices be heard. It’s about looking beyond the surface. News doesn’t stop once it breaks. It evolves. It has impact.”
SJNtv is thrilled to be the new home for Breaking AC where Lynda's nose for news continues to help her spotlight the biggest stories in South Jersey. Lynda not only has a unique knack for being at the front of the line when it comes to breaking headlines, but her character and commitment to handling stories in a respectful manner has enabled her to build trustworthy relationships with officials as well as the members of the communities they serve.
If you have a story that needs to be told, see an issue that’s not getting the attention it deserves, or if you simply want to know what’s going on around you, Lynda would love to hear from you. Email her at LCohen@sjntv.com
